TAS.AC engineered the AV and interactive play technology for Pangolin Kids Club, part of the Family Nest resort in Pecatu, Uluwatu (Bali). The 1,000 m² kids club runs 7 audio zones, a 7.2 surround cinema with a 4.5-meter screen, a motion-responsive interactive installation, and an acoustically treated music room for Balinese cultural performances. The kids club is one of four venues TAS.AC delivered under a single Family Nest contract.
What is Pangolin Kids Club?
The dedicated children’s facility inside Family Nest, a family-focused villa resort on the Bukit Peninsula in Pecatu, Uluwatu: roughly 1,000 m² of indoor and outdoor natural play space for ages 0 to 14, with climbing structures, workshops and creative play zones. The club sits on a 1.5-hectare property alongside the resort villas, ATMOS Social Steam Club and Ants Pants Restaurant, and runs on the same Dante audio-over-IP fabric and fiber network as the rest of the resort.
What did the client need?
A true experience venue, not a play corner with a TV. All of it had to run as part of the Family Nest system, controllable by non-technical staff. The requirement set breaks into four pillars:
| Need | What it means for the kids club |
|---|---|
| Zoned audio | Independent sound across activity areas so a quiet workshop is not drowned by an active play zone |
| Cinema | Immersive surround screenings sized for a large room, not a tablet on a stand |
| Interactive play | A custom installation that reacts to children’s movement and touch |
| Live performance | A music room acoustically suited to Balinese cultural performances and workshops |
Engineering for coast and kids
Pecatu’s coastal humidity and salt-laden ocean air accelerate corrosion and mold, so AV gear across Family Nest is specified tropical-grade rather than treated as standard indoor equipment. The kids club adds a second demand: equipment in a space for ages 0 to 14 is positioned and protected for constant physical contact, robust where children can reach it and out of reach where it must be. The AV is designed to disappear into the architecture and survive heavy daily use.
Note on status: Family Nest is a multi-phase development. Figures here reflect the engineered design scope for the kids club, not measured operational outcomes for the kids club in isolation.
Key elements
- 7 independent audio zones across the 1,000 m² facility
- 2 playback sources feeding the kids club
- 7.2 surround cinema with a 4.5-meter screen
- Custom interactive installation responsive to movement and touch
- Acoustically designed music room for workshops and Balinese performances
- Dante audio-over-IP transport on the shared Family Nest backbone
- App-based control, unified with the rest of the resort
The 7 zones let a calm reading area, an active climbing zone, a workshop room and the cinema each carry their own audio without bleeding into one another. The cinema turns one room into a real screening environment for group children’s content, and staff route any source to any zone from the resort app, without technical training.
What does kids club AV cost?
There is no single price; zone count, cinema scale, acoustic treatment and tropical-grade hardware set the budget, and a custom interactive installation is typically the largest variable. TAS.AC quotes per scope after a site visit rather than publishing a project total. See how we price.
| Cost driver | Why it moves the price |
|---|---|
| Number of audio zones | More independent zones means more amplification, cabling, and control logic |
| Cinema scale | A 7.2 surround system and a 4.5m screen cost far more than a soundbar-and-TV setup |
| Custom interactive installation | Bespoke motion/touch media is design-and-software heavy; the widest cost variable |
| Acoustic treatment | A music room for live performance needs real acoustic design, not just speakers |
| Tropical-grade hardware | Corrosion- and humidity-rated equipment for coastal Uluwatu carries a premium |
| Shared vs. standalone backbone | Running on an existing resort Dante/fiber network lowers marginal cost |
What were the results?
Family Nest is promoted as an International Property Awards 2026 winner for Best Resort Hotel, and the resort’s Phase 1 is operational with strong occupancy and guest ratings. TAS.AC delivered the designed AV scope for Pangolin Kids Club — 7 audio zones, the 7.2 cinema with its 4.5-meter screen, the interactive installation and the music room — as one venue inside the single Family Nest contract. No isolated operational metrics are published for the kids club alone.
