TAS.AC engineered a 23-zone audio control system for Luna Beach Club, the flagship hospitality venue inside Nuanu Creative City on the cliffs of Nyanyi Beach, Tabanan, Bali. The system routes 13 sound sources across 23 independently addressable zones on an Allen & Heath AHM-64 matrix over Dante, feeding K-Array loudspeakers. Scene-based automation and a staff-operable interface move the venue from morning ambient to late-night club without an audio engineer on shift.

What did Luna Beach Club need?

Luna Beach Club is not one room. A single guest path crosses an ocean-view beach deck, an underground cave club, a garden, a restaurant, elevated pods and a pavilion in one evening. The cave’s stone surfaces hold bass; the pods sit open to wind and surf; the restaurant must stay conversational a few meters from a DJ bar. The brief: route, balance and schedule 23 distinct acoustic situations from one control plane.

Why was the venue demanding?

Inspiral Architecture and Design Studios, with Charlie Hearn as lead architect, designed Luna as a double-curvature vortex — the first building to employ a combined bamboo-and-basalt structural system — and it won Silver in Sustainable & Green Architecture at IADA 2024. That structure dictates the AV: equipment, racks and cable runs must disappear into the building, and every outdoor element lives with salt air, humidity and UV on the exposed Nyanyi coastline.

What system did TAS.AC design?

TAS.AC’s scope is the centralized control architecture: an Allen & Heath AHM-64 matrix on Dante that manages all 23 zones and 13 sources and drives the venue’s K-Array loudspeakers. Any source routes to any zone or group of zones; time-of-day scenes move the whole venue between states with one trigger.

Key elements:

  • Matrix core — Allen & Heath AHM-64 digital matrix on Dante; 23 zones, 13 sources, full DSP (PEQ, dynamics, delay, speaker processing)
  • Network — Dante audio-over-IP backbone, AES67-compatible
  • Zones — 23 independent zones: beach deck, underground club, garden, restaurant, elevated pods, bar, pavilion
  • Sources — 13 inputs: DJ rigs, ambient playlists, live feeds, background channels, routable any-to-any
  • Automation — scene presets and time-based scheduling, morning ambient through late-night club
  • Interface — staff-operable control; no resident audio engineer required
  • Loudspeakers — K-Array aluminium-cabinet professional line arrays, physically discreet and suited to coastal exposure

A worked example: a DJ runs the underground club while the restaurant holds an ambient channel and the beach deck plays a sunset set — three sources, three zones, one matrix, reconfigurable in seconds.

What does a system like this cost?

There is no single price: zone count, source count, loudspeaker tier, coastal hardening and architectural concealment drive the number, and a 23-zone K-Array system on a Dante backbone sits at the upper end of premium multi-zone work in Bali. A fixed-fee design phase produces the exact bill of quantities — see how we price projects.

What were the results?

Luna Beach Club opened around January 2024 and operates daily inside Nuanu Creative City. Non-technical venue staff run all 23 zones: scheduled or on-demand transitions move Luna from morning ambient to late-night club, and source routing reconfigures in seconds for events. All control equipment stays concealed within Inspiral’s bamboo-and-basalt architecture — venue-scale audio with no exposed gear and no visible compromise to an award-winning design.
