TAS.AC is designing the sound, multimedia, and centralized control systems for NOVO Ubud, a club-style residential and hospitality complex on Jl. Suweta in central Ubud, Bali. The project is in the design phase: there are no operational results yet, only design intent. The brief covers audio for amenity spaces, multimedia zones, tablet-operated control, and AV infrastructure engineered for Ubud’s high-humidity highland climate rather than adapted from coastal specification.

What is NOVO Ubud?

NOVO Ubud pairs apartments with lifestyle amenities: a fitness club, the NOVO Kitchen & Bar, a spa with a 25-meter pool, sauna and cold plunge, a beauty salon, coworking and a health-food shop. TAS.AC’s work is in design, so this page describes design intent, not measured outcomes. The amenity mix drives the AV brief: each shared space needs its own acoustic and control behavior, tied together under one management layer.

Why Ubud’s climate shapes the design

Central Ubud sits at roughly 210 m elevation, wetter and more humid than coastal Bali, with perceived humidity up to ~98% and less salt-air corrosion, so the design targets moisture and condensation rather than salt.

  • Persistent moisture and condensation cycles stress electronics, connectors and seals
  • Heavy wet-season downpours put ingress risk on any semi-open amenity AV
  • A rich natural soundscape sets a low ambient floor the system should blend into, not overpower

These are design rationale, not measurements taken at NOVO Ubud.

What TAS.AC is designing

Four linked workstreams, all design intent at this stage.

SystemDesign intent
AudioDistributed, zoned sound with DSP; levels set against a low ambient floor, blending rather than projecting
MultimediaContent-driven atmospheric zones; hardware specified to recede into the architecture
ControlCentralized platform for scheduling, scene presets and zone control, run from a tablet by any staff member
InfrastructureHighland tropical specification for humidity and condensation, engineered rather than adapted from coastal spec

What will NOVO Ubud cost?

A design-phase engagement has no quotable total; the number follows the finalized zone count, open versus enclosed spaces, equipment tier, multimedia depth and climate hardening, not the other way around. There is no catalog price; how TAS.AC prices this work is on /pricing/.

What happens next?

Next milestones: finalize the zone plan, equipment tier and climate specification, then move to installation and commissioning. Only after commissioning will NOVO Ubud have measurable acoustic and operational results; until then, every claim on this page is design intent, consistent with TAS.AC’s practice of not publishing results that do not yet exist. TAS.AC already works in Ubud, so blending sound into a natural soundscape and engineering for near-saturation humidity are familiar problems rather than novel ones.
